ANSWERS TO MY MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
001. WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I'm based in Palm Cove, Queensland, just north of Cairns but my bags are always packed and my passport is always valid, so I'll happily travel to the ends of the Earth if that's where you want to get married!

002. DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?
I try to work the cost of travel into my packages as much as I can, so I don't charge for local travel, anywhere from Port Douglas to The Tablelands. If you're a little further than an hour or so out, a small fee may apply.

With domestic and international travel, I charge based on location, flight price and accommodation, and these are quoted at the time of booking.
003. WHAT'S YOUR USUAL TURNAROUND TIME?
For weddings in peak season, I usually have around a 6 week turn around time, but this can give or take a week or so, depending on the time of year.
I meticulously edit through your gallery with attention to detail and a perfectionist's eye, so this can take time.
I do however, provide a chunky sneak peek gallery of around 50-100 images within 24 hours of your wedding, so you have some images to share while you wait.

004. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER?
I shot my first wedding for a work colleague in 2012 and pursued photography as more of a hobby for many years, until I fell pregnant with my daughter in 2021, when I started my business and began photographing professionally. Since then, I've had the opportunity to capture countless priceless moments for some truly incredible people.

005. WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?
I would describe my style as a unique combination of documentary, photojournalism, fine art and editorial photography. In simple terms, it means that for most of your day I document the natural flow of the unfolding moments. I might gently encourage you towards better light or move away some clutter but I try not to interrupt the candid moments. During portraits, I may offer you some prompts to ignite natural movement but I like my images to have an unposed, 'lived-in' feel to them.

006. DO WE HAVE TO FEED YOU?
Yes please! If your wedding is over 5 hours, I'd greatly appreciate a meal. Trail mix doesn't fuel masterpieces.

007. HOW FAR OUT FROM THE WEDDING SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?
Photography is usually one of the first things that couples book in for their wedding, so I'd reach out sooner, rather than later, if you can.
My books open on February 14th for the following year so if you're planning to get married within the next 18 months, I'd suggest getting the ball rolling. In saying that, I only take on a limited amount of bookings per year so definitely reach out to see if your date is still available.
008. DO I NEED 2 PHOTOGRAPHERS AT MY WEDDING?
If you're having a small to medium sized wedding, it's not essential, but there are many reasons why it's a good idea.
While I'm resourceful, organised and coordinated, I physically can't be in 2 places at once. Having a second photographer allows us to document your day from multiple angles, photograph more details and capture more candid moments. Additionally, it also allows us to smooth out the general flow of your day and I'm not having to rush between locations ensuring I capture all of your special moments.

If your wedding is over 120+ people however, a second shooter is not something I'd skip out on.

The second photographers I use are all seasoned professionals with their own photography businesses.
009. WE ONLY WANT THE HIGHLIGHTS CAPTURED - CAN WE JUST BOOK YOU FOR A FEW HOURS?
Of course! The minimum coverage I offer for micro weddings and elopements is 2-3 hours, which is plenty of time to capture the ceremony and some portraits afterwards.
